Affordable Cricut Carrying Case

8/28/2019

Want to take your Cricut to school?  I found a very affordable carrying case.  It appears to have less padding than others, so not recommended for intense traveling, but taking it to school a few times should be a good fit!

I am a huge reader.  So I figured I would be doing the world a disservice if I didn't share my favorites for the time being.  What are you reading?

PS. As an Amazon Associate I get a tiny amount if you purchase through my page and it cost you the same! Boom!

I've been waiting to this book from the library for 3 months!  Finally got it and it is AH-Mazing!
I know, I know. I feel so basic that a PSL just appeared in my hand and I don't even drink coffee. But friends, it is a good read!

A pep talk you can read!
I cannot recommend this enough! I am almost done with  year 4 and I love looking back on where my family was on this same day year after year!

I was so excited to find @whatshoulddannydo on my desk when I got to school today. My little man was the first to check it out and it is officially super hero approved! I can’t wait to use it with my classroom...but I kind of don’t want to share the cape! How do you teach about choices? . . . #whatshoulddannydo #goodchoices #charactered #readalouds #kindergarten #iteachk #iteachprimary #education #picturebooks

What Should Danny Do?

Remember Choose Your Own Adventure books? This is a picture book version that teaches the power of our choices in life.   There are nine possible stories in one!

VINYL 101

It took me a long time to learn what kind of vinyl to use...and sometimes a touch of money.  So I decided to share this post to help you avoid learning the hard way!

I have attached examples of each...as an Amazon associate I do get a small amount for each purchase you make, but it cost you the same! :)

Transfer Tape

This is my favorite and my very best find.  Most transfer tape was far too sticky for me (and somewhat expensive).  This isn't 12 inches wide, but I can cut more than one piece if I need bigger and I've been able to reuse it for a few pieces.

Non-Permanent 631

This vinyl is perfect for classroom projects you want to be able to remove at the end of the school year such as desks, whiteboards, walls, and etc.

Permanent 651

This is the vinyl I use most often.  I have used it as a stencil and removed it from some projects--it is not as easy to remove as the other, but it can be done.  This is the vinyl you'll want for outdoor projects, signs, cars and etc.

Fabric - HEat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)

HTV requires a heat press of some type to make a tshirt, bag, or any other fabric project.  Personally, I have the Cricut Easy Press and I had zero issues. I used it for personal use and for our small business.

I bought this HTV multicolor pack a year or so ago and it has been perfect for having a variety of colors to add small details to projects. It has saved me from having to go out and purchase a whole roll for an accent color on multiple occastions.

Remember when using HTV you will want to mirror your project and put it on the mat shiny side down.

August is all about a summer of preparation to make it to the first week which is inevitably about survival.

I am not going to tell you how to survive the first week in the classroom, I am going to tell you how to survive the first week as a human.

First, I have to recommend Downlite bedding!  Think of amazing hotel bedding and then put it in your own home. Boom! Magic.

Better yet, since they love teachers they've given me a code to share with my followers to take 15% off everything at Downlite Bedding Company. Use code DYGEN15 to treat yourself to a great night’s sleep! 🙌🏼

Let's keep going!

Great day shoes...I have always sworn that Sketchers go walk shoes are the ugliest, most comfiest teacher shoes out there and I think they heard me because they finally made a cute pair! I have plantar-fascia because the universe sometimes hates me and these have been such a relief! Whoop whoop! Click below if you want to check them out.

Remember as an Amazon associate I get a small amount for qualifying purchases and it doesn't cost you any more.  Win-win!

Great night shoes...or day shoes..I'm not here to judge and before I found the awesome memory foam shoes above I kept a pair under my classroom desk. The students thought it was hilarious.

Below I give you extra, fashionista, and adult-a

and my favorite ADULTING STICKERS for you and your teammates.
